Why I decided to become a Beautycounter Consultant

A lot of my posts are about how to live a less toxic life and beauty products are of course a big part of this.  I wanted to give an honest take on why I decided to join Beautycounter.

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical at first to attach my name to the company and be the type to "promote" beauty products.  But after I learned more about Beautycounter and did my research, it's a perfect side, side, side hustle for me.  It took me over a year to really decide to make a business from it.

Do I think Beautycounter is the only good beauty company out there? Hell no! I promote other brands I love and I'm so happy more brands are becoming more natural and less toxic.  I love that I can still promote these other products as well and devote as much time to this business as I want.

My reasons for joining:
■  Our exposure to toxic chemicals in beauty products can cause health issues (like infertility and cancer!!) Beautycounter vows to not put in over 1500 toxins in their products.
■ they screen every potential ingredient for potential health hazards against cancer, infertility, hormone disruption, and developmental toxicity.
■ they have set the lowest allowable amounts of heavy metals in their products
■ they don’t hide their ingredients
■ they don't use synthetic fragrances
■ they have options for men, women, kids, and teens
■ They do donation campaigns to give out safer beauty products to cancer patients. I love this proactive approach.
■ They work with Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, which strives to prevent breast cancer by eliminating exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation. To me, this is much more powerful than spreading "awareness"
■ the products WORK
■ they have sunscreen
■ they take customer feedback seriously. In fact, they just lowered the price of a product and refunded the difference after hearing it was too expensive in the market.
■ they have a 60 day money back guarantee.
■ I think about teenagers slathering themselves in toxic makeup and lotions and sunscreens (potentially causing early puberty) — like Bath & Body Works — and I want them to learn about other options
■ Beautycounter doesn’t dictate how I run my business
