Beautiful skin, hair, and nails come from not only the products on your skin, but also what you put in your body. Our skin is a reflection of what's going on in our gut!Read More
Our bodies are constantly bombarded with toxins everywhere. From the food we eat, to the air we breathe, and the water we drink. It's important to minimize our toxic exposure as much as we can.
Toxins have to be filtered through our liver, so why not do our best to reduce our exposure in the everyday items we can control! The less toxins we put in and on our bodies, the less toxins we need to detox! Our skin is our largest organ and it absorbs the toxins in our beauty products and can also mimic estrogens in the body.Read More
I heard this quotation at the Christy Wright Business Boutique and haven't been able to get it out of my head. It rings true for so many of us in business and in life. We're not scared to start something, we're scared to start small, look dumb and unsuccessful...or fail. We want to already have everything figured out before we even try. We want to make everyone think we have more clients than we do. We want people to look at us and think we are credible.Read More
A lot of my posts are about how to live a less toxic life and beauty products are of course a big part of this. I wanted to give an honest take on why I decided to join Beautycounter. Not gonna lie, I was skeptical at first to attach my name to the company and be the type to "promote" beauty products. But after I learned more about Beautycounter and did my research, it's a perfect side, side, side hustle for me. It took me over a year to really decide to make a business from it.Read More
I got my Autoimmune Thyroid (Hashimotos) diagnosis in 2012. I began researching, tracking every symptom, crying, being happy to make progress, crying again I didn’t make as much progress as I thought, shifting, learning, growing, changing who I was and how I ate.Read More
I'm fully accepting this won't be a very popular post… But I gotta say it! Our society talks about coffee a lot! If I see another #butfirstcoffee meme, I'm gonna lose it.. jk haha. I also know that you may ignore this advice coming from a non-coffee drinker. I have never been a coffee drinker.... up until about 4 months ago when I discovered Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee and to my surprise... I actually liked the taste. I now have a cup every few weeks. But now I at least understand the appeal!Read More
I just took a test to see if I have Pyroluria. The test measures my kryptopyrrole activity in my urine.

8 months ago I moved to Nashville on my own.
Many people have asked me if I’m happy I made the move and how I like my new city. I always say yes, which is true, but there are so many other emotions I need to share. It can’t be categorized by good or bad. It just is. For some reason, I woke up today and had to get this down on paper. It’s like I can finally reflect on what just happened to me over the past 8 months confidently. I’ve been on this ride and shot out of the cannon and have now safely landed on the other side.Read More
I was recently asked by a friend my thoughts on Soylent, a new nutrition shake that claims to be a complete meal in a bottle. Apparently it's all the rage in DC :) and I'm out of the cool kids club so wasn't aware of this new fad. I get upset when drinks like this come out because people that drink them want to be healthy and are trying hard to make positive changes in their life but they are misled. I cannot even see how this drink is healthy! There are some shakes out there that aren't perfect but they still may be a better option for some people that are currently eating bagels or doughnuts for breakfast.Read More
Traveling is exhausting and stressful for everyone, but for those with chronic illness, it's extra hard on the body. If you have a chronic illness (for example an autoimmune disease or adrenal fatigue), your body does well when it's in a routine. Getting up at the same time every day, getting proper sleep, drinking plenty of water, getting sunshine, and eating the proper ratio of healthy fats, healthy carbs, and protein. However, when you're traveling, your routine is thrown WAY off. This can bring up old symptoms, lead to a flare up, or can lead to insomnia. So I want to share my best tips that anyone can use, but especially those with a chronic illness.Read More
I sit here in Detroit, Michigan in the cutest little breakfast place, Folk Detroit, on my fourth solo roadtrip. This may not be significant to most, but three years ago, I used to be too scared to eat alone at a restaurant. Apparently, this is a common fear for many. If this is you, you need to go SOLO ROADTRIPPIN!! Going on a trip by yourself forces you out of your comfort zone, allows you to spend quality time with yourself, and it's where true growth happens. Plus, you will get over your fear of eating alone VERY QUICKLY.Read More
I'm always talking about the benefits of salt and that's because I have felt a DRASTIC difference in my well-being by ADDING salt to my diet & water (and not restricting it, like most tell us to do). Yes, even those with high blood pressure have noticed benefits of using real saltRead More
Lemon-Lime Matcha cups (makes 10). This recipe is full of GOOD FATS with a very small amount of sugar. You can even omit any sweetener and these are still great desserts that won't spike your blood sugar. Make sure you check for added sugars in the coconut butters you buy! These fats I ALWAYS have in my pantry.Read More
I've learned of a great new morning energy drink (no it's not coffee!) It's called the adrenal cocktail. Do you need coffee or other stimulants to get you going? If you crave sugar or salt, feel burnt out, get lightheaded when standing, have a wired yet tired feeling at night, need sunglasses in the day because the sun is too bright and hurts your eyes, have trouble waking up in the morning even after a full night's rest, feel more awake after 6pm, have had situations of prolonged stress, or just have a general sense of unwellness/exhaustion, you may have signs of adrenal fatigue.Read More
Pure, fresh water is one of THE most important things we can put in our body. I used to drink tap water. I then switched to drinking water from a Brita thinking I was better informed. Then I drank a lot of bottled water. Unfortunately, none of these was enough to give me the pure, fresh water my body needs. After a lot of research, I want to share with you the best water filter I've found.Read More

We’ve been told fat causes heart disease and clogs our arteries. We’ve been told cholesterol is bad for us and we can never have cholesterol that is too low. People are being put on statin drugs at alarming rates and many of us are buying low-fat foods trying to be healthy.Read More
